It is the lesser known and visited of the two, particularly amongst the tourist crowds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The main Âé¶¹APPian Chinatown is in the 13th arrondissement; almost on the outskirts of the city on the Left Bank of the Seine. Aside from being the favorite Chinatown in Âé¶¹APP, it is also the oldest known Chinatown in all of Europe. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This Chinatown in the 13th came about during the 1970s as a result of the increasing number of Chinese refugees fleeing Vietnam for France. The high rise urban development buildings were empty, and offered cheap rent to anyone who was interested. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">And so the people began to build a life in the far south of Âé¶¹APP, seemingly worlds away from the central districts in which the locals and tourists tended to flock. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Eventually the streets of the 13th became filled with Chinese shops, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-chinese-restaurants-in-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">restaurants<\/a> and social spaces. It\u2019s existence spread via word of mount and today Chinatown is a Âé¶¹APPian neighborhood loved by both the tourists and locals who pay regular visits. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Here are a few things not to miss while in this area!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Tang Freres <\/span><span class=\"s1\">in Chinatown Âé¶¹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Tang Freres is the most famous shop in Âé¶¹APP\u2019 Chinatown. Its fun to walk through the aisles and pick out strange <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-thai-restaurants-in-paris-in-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">foods<\/a> or ornaments that make you feel like you\u2019re somewhere other than Âé¶¹APP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Several Tang Freres stores can be found scattered throughout the streets of the 13th arrondissement. Embarking on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/city\/paris-walking-tours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guided walking tour<\/a> in the area will unveil not only each of these stores but also numerous other intriguing and delightful shopping destinations.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">Hidden Buddhist Temple in Chinatown Âé¶¹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Because the buildings in Chinatown were already erect once the immigrants moved into the city, none of the infrastructure is identifiably \u201cChinese\u201d per se. Walking is the easiest way to find each place, and the locals are only too happy to point you in the right direction. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s1\">Olympiades Centre in Chinatown Âé¶¹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Olympiades <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/shopping-in-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shopping<\/a> Centre is considered the biggest attraction in Chinatown Âé¶¹APP. The cobblestone streets are laden with galleries and art deco houses that are refreshing to see in Âé¶¹APP.
