The plaza is so central and accessible via so many roads that jut out from it that finding yourself here by accident isn\u2019t that surprising. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I enjoy my walks through the Bastille and trying to grasp the events that occurred in the space so many years ago. Equally as much I enjoy my meals in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/compared-place-de-la-bastille-vs-place-de-la-concorde\/\">Bastille<\/a> \u2014 here are 10 of the best things to eat when in the district!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">1. An accidental find that has brought me back at least once a week ever since. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Inside <i>Cafe Ginger<\/i> you\u2019ll select your main meal and then choose from the array of side dish options in the buffet to fill the rest of your plate. The Lasagne is a must-try for anyone who enjoys the traditional dish but hasn\u2019t been able to enjoy it as often since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/paris-vegan\/\">changing their diet<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">What\u2019s great about <i>Cafe Ginger <\/i>is that the color pallet is completely reflected onto your plate \u2014 so you know you\u2019re getting all the nutrients and vitamins you need out of that one meal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Portions are big, so come hungry!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Average cost: Under \u20ac20<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">2. Japanese Food in Bastille<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Heading north from the Place de la Bastille, just a few blocks of a short walk upward, you\u2019ll find a little place called <i>Fujiyaki<\/i>. It\u2019s a cosy little Japanese spot where you\u2019ll enjoy some of the freshest sushi in all of Bastille. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Sushi is wonderful during the warmer months in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/things-to-do-in-paris-around-the-opera\/\">Pairs<\/a>, the perfect meal to end off a long day of walking in the heat. I love that their prices are reasonable and portions are huge. This is a rarity when it comes to sushi in Europe. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If you usually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-places-to-go-on-a-date-in-paris\/\">love<\/a> sushi then you\u2019ll love eating at <i>Fujiyaki<\/i> &#8211; about as authentic as it gets this side of the world. Street Food in Bastille <\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This next spot is a bit further from the central <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-ten-plazas-in-paris\/\">plaza<\/a> in Bastille, further out that many of the rest of the restaurants. It needs to be tasty as hell and quick to serve \u2014 and you\u2019re good! <i>CUT<\/i> is a Bangkok <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-street-food-of-paris\/\">street food<\/a> concept that serves up sliced dishes of meat and veggies as fresh and flavourful as they come. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The staff also make an effort to help each individual customer as best as possible, regardless of if they speak French or not. This says a lot about customer services as many places in Â鶹APP are notorious for slacking in this department. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You\u2019ll find <i>CUT<\/i> at number 4 Rue Saint-Bernard in the east side of Bastille.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Average Cost: Under \u20ac10<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">4. Authentic French Food in Bastille<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I can\u2019t bring you all the way to the Bastille and not offer at least one authentic French cuisine to dive into. With so much <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-best-museums-to-visit-with-children-in-paris\/\">history<\/a> and soul in the streets, Bastille naturally holds some equally as fine French dining for anyone who is interested. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Most of the best authentic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/how-to-wear-a-french-beret-like-parisians\/\">French<\/a> bistros are located in the immediate vicinity of the square of the Place de la Bastille. Everything is good, service is friendly and sipping a glass of wine while overlooking the square where the Bastille castle once stood is absolutely priceless. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Average Cost: Under \u20ac30<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">5. Sweet Treats in Bastille<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You know when sometimes you come across a place that is so good and so wholesome that you kind of want to keep it a secret. To keep it all for yourself and not let the rest of the world invade it? But you\u2019re also torn because they work so hard and deserve all the success in the world?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Yes. That is exactly how I feel about <i>Mokonuts<\/i>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the heart of Bastille is a bakery owned and run by a Japanese-Lebanese couple who literally dedicate their lives to the success of this space. Be part of this wholesome environment in which the couple does all the cooking themselves. Go with a friend and do their taco special! For just under \u20ac40 you\u2019ll get 10 tacos and 4 tequila shots to share. A great deal and a great evening out in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/things-to-do-near-bastille-in-paris\/\">Bastille<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Reserve a table in advance to avoid disappointment. This spot tends to fill up early evening time \u2014 lunch you might still be able to stroll in unannounced for a quite bite to eat!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Average Cost: Under \u20ac25<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">7. Pizza in Bastille<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Pizza lovers pay close attention! Another Bastille gem coming right up. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I\u2019ll admit that initially it was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/hidden-gems-in-le-marais\/\">charming<\/a> interior of this restaurant that first caught my eye when I was walking down Boulevard Richard Lenoir one day. Upon realizing that it was an Italian food establishment I had no choice but to stop and try it out. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At <i>Ober Mamma<\/i> you\u2019ll gorge on delectable pizza and pasta from an extensive menu. To put it simply. Good food, kind staff, a beautiful setting \u2014 not much to fault them on at all. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>Ober Mamma <\/i>is situated right by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/5-things-to-learn-from-oberkampf\/\">Oberkampf<\/a> metro stop which means you\u2019re riding the outskirts of another eclectic little suburb within the Bastille area. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-things-to-see-in-oberkampf\/\">Oberkampf<\/a> is and up and coming little town with a lot of bars and creative hubs. It\u2019s easy to get lost here in the evenings walking from attraction to social gathering to thrift shop. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Average Cost: Under \u20ac30<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">8. This park has some of the best panoramic views of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-taste-of-america-in-paris\/\">Pairs<\/a> and should be visited by everyone at least once! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>CREAM\u2019s<\/i> range of flavors are delectable. No need to avoid this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-ice-cream-places-in-paris\/\">ice cream<\/a> shop in the winter either because their menu of warm drinks are equally as great to cosy up in the corner with as you enjoy a book or tend to some emails. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Average Cost: Under \u20ac10<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">9. Market Food in Bastille<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If anyone says they don\u2019t like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/paris-largest-flea-market\/\">market<\/a> food they probably shouldn\u2019t be trusted. The array of options and the craftsmanship that goes into many of the dishes found in Â鶹APPian markets is admirable and always worth supporting! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The March\u00e9 Bastille is one of the biggest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-food-markets-in-paris\/\">markets in Â鶹APP<\/a>. March\u00e9 Bastille is where locals have been coming together weekly for years to bask in the art of trading. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At March\u00e9 Bastille you\u2019ll be able to pick up some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-reasons-to-visit-the-paris-flea-market\/\">fresh produce<\/a> and groceries to get you through the week as well as enjoy a variety of home cooked meals on the day. My favorites are the buffet spreads that allow you to take a plate and fill it with whatever catches your eye from the table of dishes. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The fresh baked bread stall is another to look out for! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Average Cost: Under \u20ac10<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">10. Falafel in Bastille<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Typical I\u2019ve saved the best for last. Good <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-moroccan-restaurants-in-paris-in-2019\/\">falafel<\/a> is something that seems to follow me around the planet; I\u2019m pleased to have found this wonderful restaurant in the heart of Bastille as well. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><em>Babylone<\/em> is a little spot just north of the Place de la Bastille on Rue Daval.
