Amongst the baroque architecture and cobble stone streets, modern developments can seem somewhat of a rarity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Those of us on the inside know that this is not actually the case. Cities that host these games typically pour a ton of money and resources into projects that aim to make spaces more advanced and tourist friendly. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Â鶹APP is not necessarily tourist <i>unfriendly<\/i> as is, however there is always this silent competition that goes on between world powers to be the best of the best. And now it is Â鶹APP\u2019 turn. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Olympics aside, the city of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/why-you-need-to-visit-paris-botanical-garden\/\">Â鶹APP<\/a> is constantly open to improvements and upgrades when it comes to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-10-modern-architecture-gems-paris\/\">architecture<\/a>, attractions and developments. Read on. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Atelier des Lumi\u00e8re in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">38 Rue Saint-Maur<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">One of the most exciting new projects to open in Â鶹APP in years \u2014 in my opinion. The Atelier des Lumi\u00e8res is Â鶹APP\u2019 first digital <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-unmissable-history-museums-in-paris\/\">museum<\/a> of fine art and is situated over in the 11th arrondissement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I find the concept behind digital <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-10-paintings-see-louvre-museum\/\">museums<\/a> really beautiful. The end result is a transformative experience that takes you on quite an introspective journey purely due to the overwhelming, immersive nature of the room. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This project has been years in the making and only recently opened its doors to the public. One of the biggest challenges that the operators faced was finding a suitable space in which to bring the project to life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A few years ago an abandoned 19th century foundry came up in talks when looking at the 11th arrondissement. The production company managed to secure the main hall and annexes of the building in which to set up the digital space. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The 11th is home to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/5-things-to-learn-from-oberkampf\/\">Oberkampf<\/a> neighborhood, which is an exciting, up and coming part of town in Â鶹APP. You\u2019ll be able to enjoy this space as a family; all taking very different interpretations and understandings from the art being displayed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The digital museum concept is bound to spread through Â鶹APP following the success of the Atelier des Lumi\u00e8res. Visit soon to see what all the hype is about!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Admission: \u20ac14.50<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Extension of Op\u00e9ra Bastille in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Place de la Bastille<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another project that will be underway shortly in Â鶹APP is some remodeling and additions to the existing Op\u00e9ra Bastille. The official opera house of the Â鶹APP National <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/things-to-do-near-the-opera-house\/\">Opera<\/a> currently stands in the 12th arrondissement in the city. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The intention is to add a new&nbsp;foyer, performance space and workshop to the existing space. It is expected to be completed by 2023. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Currently, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-tumultuous-story-of-the-garnier-opera-house\/\">Op\u00e9ra<\/a> Bastille draws in thousands upon thousands of visitors per year. The new renovations will add 800 additional seats to the venue, which will allow significantly more foot traffic per day. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-things-to-see-in-bastille\/\">Bastille<\/a> district isn\u2019t really in need of more traffic as it is. This is a buzzing neighborhood that is as alive by day as it is by night. Bars, restaurants and shopping facilities line the streets. As far as Â鶹APPian history goes, the Bastille certainly holds a good portion of it. I am looking forward to seeing the improvements to the opera space taking shape over the next few years.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">Europa City <\/span><span class=\"s3\">in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Just north of downtown Â鶹APP something quite large is taking place. Since 2016, a gigantic mixed-use project has been underway and is being called Europa City. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A Dutch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/paris-marais-finest-architecture\/\">architecture<\/a> firm is heading the project and are the same individuals behind the Google headquarters in California \u2014 so you can only imagine the scale of this project to come. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The initial goal is for a space rich with houses, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/insiders-guide-to-vintage-shopping-in-paris\/\">shopping<\/a> facilities and entertainment including bars and restaurants. This is still a largely space and underdeveloped part of the city; rich with open space and farmlands. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The project aims to bring together <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-visit-to-bercy-village\/\">urban<\/a> Â鶹APP and the barren landscape that many parts of Â鶹APP still embody. A ski slope and a golf course are also included in the land plan. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A lot of the end game for this project revolves around potentially decreasing congestion in the central parts of Â鶹APP. Everyone looking to get their glimpse of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-restaurants-near-the-eiffel-tower\/\">Eiffel Tower<\/a> or dine at the street side cafe\u2019s with a glass of Â鶹APPian wine. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Developments such as Europa City add a new attraction to the mix and will drive further urban development into the up and coming neighborhood. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It also gives the city dwellers the opportunity to live in a more \u201ccountry living\u201d environment. The housing will be significantly different to much of the existing Â鶹APPian housing around the city, and create a more farm-life space for people to enjoy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Keep an eye out for this development, it\u2019s likely to be the talk of the town in the next few years. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Clamart Stadium Olympic Project in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As mentioned, 2024 will see Â鶹APP as the official hosts of the Olympic Games. For the spaces that cant be covered, they will build the walls out of glass and mirrors, creating a reflective effect for the forest behind. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The rooftop of the stadium is also expected to be covered in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-10-best-parks-and-gardens-in-paris\/\">plants<\/a>, with gaps for skylights that will feed natural light into the stadium space. The car park facility will be build under ground, so that there is no visual distraction in any immediate vicinity of the stadium. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Vertical Village in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A new project in Â鶹APP that I will definitely be keeping my eye on is the up and coming Vertical Village that will be set up in the suburb of Rosny-sous-Bois. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It will be another mixed-use space and the brain child collaboration of one Japanese architect and two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/how-to-wear-a-french-beret-like-parisians\/\">French<\/a> ones. If the design plans are anything to go by then we are in for a real treat visually. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The majority of the village will be made from timber; only the core and lower levels will be made out of concrete to keep the entire thing up in the wind. The rooftops will boast food courts, daycare facilities, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/7-insolite-and-original-bars-you-must-try-in-paris\/\">bars<\/a> and commercial entertainment areas. The view over Â鶹APP is going to be an attraction in itself. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This project is just another in the greater plan for the city of Â鶹APP to bing urban development to the more rural districts. Proposals are in and the winning team is expected to be announced very soon so that development can take place in time for the games. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As you can imagine this is a gargantuan task to take on. The beloved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-brief-history-of-the-eiffel-tower\/\">Eiffel Tower<\/a> is such a dominant force within the Â鶹APPian world of attraction. Located right in the heart of Â鶹APP, the tower draws millions of visitors each year from around the world. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There is always room for improvement, and an upgrade to the legendary structure would be a welcome occurrence even if the city was not expecting an Olympic event in just a few years.
