It is a pretty relaxed city, thanks to its people and their lifestyle. But during this season, it gets even more relaxed. Flowers are slowly blooming, the city regains its colors, the temperatures are rising but it doesn&#8217;t get too hot. It probably is the best time of the year to visit the city, because it is during the off-peak season, so the places are less crowded but just as charming as the rest of the year! Maybe even more! So, you won&#8217;t be missing options for cool spring walks in the city. For instance, I&#8217;m sure you will enjoy <strong><i>Jardim da Gra\u00e7a<\/i><\/strong> which is the largest green area of the city. It has three viewpoints, an orchard, a children&#8217;s playgrounds and a picnic area for the families. <\/p>\n<p>During Spring, having picnics is definitely one of my favorite things to do, because the weather is not too cold and not too hot either. It&#8217;s pleasant and you can freely stay under the sun without fearing to get burnt. However, it&#8217;s still wiser to bring a little sunscreen to avoid any risks. <\/p>\n<p>Having a picnic is the most soothing activity in Lisbon. You only need to bring a blanket, a healthy dish and dessert to share with your group, and a deck of cards if you plan on staying for a while. I guarantee you will spend a lovely time! Whenever I go picnic in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/city\/lisbon-walking-tours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lisbon<\/a>, I always end up having a little nap! While in Lisbon, you absolutely need to seize the opportunity and visit Sintra!<\/p>\n<p>Sintra is only an hour away from Lisbon by train, and the train ticket only costs 2.25 euros. Sintra looks straight out of a fairytale! Anyone who visits Sintra falls eternally in love with it. Sintra is such a special place, where magic and mystery are mixed together, when humans can reconnect with nature. <\/p>\n<p>Sintra was the place where the Celtics used to worship the moon, where the Moors erected their great wall, and was the place the royalty picked for the construction of their palaces. The history of this city is incredibly interesting!<\/p>\n<p>You can visit the famous and colourful <strong><i>Pena Palace<\/i><\/strong>, which is one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal, the <strong><i>Moors Castle<\/i><\/strong>, the <strong><i>Quinta da Regaleira<\/i><\/strong>, and many more amazing monuments! But also the forest with its waterfalls and the beach that are simply the most enchanting places ever. The sanctuary is located in the freguesia of Pragal in the Municipality of Almada, at an altitude of 112 meters above the Tejo river level. <\/p>\n<p>Finished in 1959 and inspired by the Cristo Redentor statue of Rio de Janeiro,it is one of the highest constructions of Portugal. Enjoy the weather while drinking a nice drink. If you want a suggestion, you can go to the <strong><i>Rio Maravilha<\/i><\/strong>, which is found in the <strong><i>Lx Factory<\/i><\/strong> that is an arts centre. This place is one of the coolest in Lisbon! The Moors built it for their defense and used to live there, until the first King of Portugal Afonso Henriques took the castle and expelled the Muslims, opening the doors to the Christians. This year (2019), it will happen between May, 30th and June, 16th. Every year it takes place in the <strong><i>Parque Eduardo VII<\/i><\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>If you love literature or finding out new writers, you will love the <i>Feiro do Livro<\/i>! It will also allow you to learn more about Portuguese literature, which is not always taught in schools. Walk around the many tents and find real treasures! The books at this fair are a lot cheaper than in libraries, this is why you definitely seize the opportunity! It is called the <i>Out Jazz<\/i> and it happens every year during Spring in many gardens of the city! This event starts in May and ends in September. It takes place every sunday in a different garden each month. The performances start at 5 pm!
