For some it\u2019s the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-nightclubs-in-paris\/\"><span class=\"s2\">club<\/span><\/a>, for others perhaps the markets \u2014 for me\u2026 it\u2019s the bookshops. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is a subject I seem to learn more and more about everyday simply through conversation and recommendation with others who share my same interest. Just when I think I\u2019ve seen all the bookshops there are to see in Â鶹APP, another finds its way into my awareness and I\u2019m off on what can only be described as a scavenger hunt. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Â鶹APP is such a romantic city and I think this brings out the bookworm in any who visit. The the Champs De Mars park is another good spot to watch the world go by as locals and tourists alike lose themselves in literature underneath the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-brief-history-of-the-eiffel-tower\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Eiffel Tower<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In order to ensure I always have a book with me \u2014 I need to buy many books! The bookshops of Â鶹APP are as romantic as the city in which they exist. It is somewhat of an institution, founded in 1951 and still serving the public to this day. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The book store is situated in the heart of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-way-to-visit-notre-dame-de-paris\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Notre Dame<\/span><\/a>, just across the bridge from the Cathedral. It features an array of murals and collective quotes from the writers best works. It is exceptionally cosy and hard to pull yourself out of once the collection of new and used books pulls you in. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The sidewalk specials are also easy on the pocket and a great place to find some discarded gems. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">3. San Francisco Book Company in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">17 Rue Monsieur le Prince<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Patrons of the San Francisco Book Company are generally locals and customers for life. This is because the store prides itself on its seven day a week, 365 day a year policy. The clerks are also only too willing to help with all your searches and will order whatever they don\u2019t have in store if necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While we\u2019re in the neighborhood I must digress; just a short walk from the San Francisco Book Company is my favorite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-tapas-bistros-in-paris\/\"><span class=\"s2\">tapas restaurant<\/span><\/a> in all of Â鶹APP, L&#8217;avant Comptoir De La Mer. This is a tiny little restaurant where the menus hang from the ceiling and the wine pairs perfectly with each dish. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Try and stop by with your new book purchase from the San Francisco store, read while you wait for your tapas!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">4. Berkeley Books in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">8 Rue Casimir Delavigne<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Berkeley books is the lovechild of three passionate Californians who met in 2006 and had a collective dream of owning a bookshop in Â鶹APP. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is a place where you can head to both buy and sell books of your own as they are not one to turn away any literature that comes in. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Berkley Books also makes an effort to be part of community upliftment. WHSmith in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">248 Rue de Rivoli<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">WHSmith is an all encompassing little book shop in the 1st arrondissement. Le Monte en L\u2019Air&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"s1\">in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">2 Rue de la Mare<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I am a huge fan of this bookshop located in Menilmontant. This is a district in Â鶹APP that is often overlooked as it is not considered to be one of the main attractions of the city. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Regardless, Menilmontant is by far one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Â鶹APP in my opinion. It is also the home town of Â鶹APPian music legend, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/what-you-need-to-know-about-edith-piaf\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Edith Piaf<\/span><\/a>. You can visit her childhood apartment over on Rue Crespin du Gast. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A short walk from the Piaf residence is the Le Monte en L\u2019Air book store. I use the term bookstore loosely, as the vicinity also doubles as a theatre and art gallery. Used Book Cafe in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">111 Boulevard Beaumarchais<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Okay, so you can\u2019t actually purchase any books at this store \u2014 but you can enjoy them just the same, maybe even more than in an actual book shop. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Le Used Book Cafe is a concept store that incorporates a cafe into a library environment. Over 10 000 books line the walls of the cafe and the idea is to settle in with one as you enjoy a pot of tea or brunch meal.
