Originally constructed to shelter the Â鶹APPian bourgeois from the rain during their shopping excursions, today these passages are still a great option in case of bad weather.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the most famous of the Â鶹APPian passages is the <strong>Passage Jouffroy<\/strong>. Starting at <em>10-12 Boulevard Montmartre<\/em>, this passage is lined with antique vendors, bookstores, and even gourmet food shops. Follow<strong> Passage Jouffroy<\/strong> until the end, then head into the <strong>Passage des Panoramas<\/strong>, the oldest passage in Â鶹APP! You&#8217;ll find more shops, excellent antique and vintage art and some of everything in between. There&#8217;s also a caf\u00e9 on the roof, so you can enjoy a drink with a view. To access the rooftop, head to <em>35-40 Boulevard Haussmann<\/em> (for Galeries Lafayette) or just next door to <em>64 Boulevard Haussmann<\/em> (for Printemps) and take the escalators to the top floor. A picturesque exterior showcases the romantic, Belle Epoque architecture typical of this neighbourhood. Inside, you&#8217;ll find some tributes to romantic literary George Sand as well as the mansions original owner, painter Ary Scheffer. Featuring gorgeous, gilded Belle Epoque fa\u00e7ades and an even more impressive interior, this place is a must-see. Now one of the trendiest spots in the city, you&#8217;ll find no shortage of art galleries, street art and shopping. The streets of SoPi are also home to some of the coolest bars and best eats in the city! If you want the real SoPi experience, head to <strong>Bar Maison Souquet<\/strong> at <em>10 Rue de Bruxelles<\/em>. This iconic cathedral was commissioned during Haussmann&#8217;s renovations, and its ornate architecture is characteristic of the neighbourhood. A street with a rather gruesome history, Rue des Martyrs got its name back in the 3rd century. \u00a0Legend has it that when Bishop Saint Denis was beheaded by the Roman Empire, he carried his head in his hands all the way up this street!<\/p>\n<p>Nowadays, the<strong> Rue des Martyrs<\/strong> is a trendy street bustling with charming vendors, wonderful food stalls and a hipster Â鶹APPian vibe. Personally, I think this street is one of the best things to do in Â鶹APP 9th district, and I hope you&#8217;ll love it, too!
