This article will tell you where, how, and why to enjoy some of the best treats Â鶹APP has to offer!<\/p>\n<p>The neighbourhood bakery, or <em>boulangerie<\/em> is a staple in French everyday life. Locals usually visit their bakery every day to pick up fresh pastries and bread for the days&#8217; meals. In France, it&#8217;s really important to eat fresh, delicious ingredients, especially bread! Although somewhat of a stereotype, it&#8217;s actually quite common to see Â鶹APPians walking home at the end of the day with a baguette or two. This long, thin loaf of bread is an important part of most meals in France. It can be enjoyed any time of the day, by itself, as a sandwich, or an accompaniment to literally any dish you can imagine. Not just any French bread is a baguette however, and the regulations about this iconic loaf are pretty strict. Firstly, there are two kinds of baguettes, the light and doughy <em><strong>baguette<\/strong><\/em>, and the slightly crustier, heartier <strong><em>baguette tradition<\/em><\/strong>. Second, in order to be called a baguette, the loaf must measure between 55-70 cm long and weigh 250-300 grams. There&#8217;s actually an annual contest amongst all of the bakeries in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/type\/free-tours\/?town=paris-walking-tours\">Â鶹APP<\/a> to see who can make the best baguette!<\/p>\n<p>But with so many <strong>Â鶹APPian bakeries<\/strong>, how exactly do you choose a delicious baguette? Each baguette is made with only four ingredients: water, flour, yeast and salt, but each bakery has a different recipe and therefore a different baguette! In order to choose the most delicious baguette, experts say it&#8217;s all about texture. The perfect baguette tradition should be golden brown, and be <em>croustillant &nbsp;<\/em>(meaning a mix of crusty and crunchy) on the outside. On the inside, the bread should be soft and dense with an unforgettable taste you just can&#8217;t find anywhere else!<\/p>\n<p>Â鶹APPian bakeries are found on almost every block in Â鶹APP, but these ones are a few of my favourites. Their <strong><em>baguette Monge<\/em><\/strong> was inspired by the lovely neighbourhood around Rue Monge in Â鶹APP. Definitely worth a try! You can find Eric Kayser all over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/type\/free-tours\/?town=paris-walking-tours\">Â鶹APP<\/a>, but my favourite location is <em>14 Rue Monge, 75005<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3>Au Petit Â鶹APP du Marais &#8211; Baguette Tradition<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/le-petit-versailles-interieur.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11779\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/le-petit-versailles-interieur.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/le-petit-versailles-interieur.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/le-petit-versailles-interieur-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nestled in the trendy&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/paris-walking-tours\/trendy-marais-tour\/\">Marais neighbourhood,<\/a> this beautifully decorated bakery has some delicious baguettes. I would recommend their <strong><em>baguette tradition<\/em><\/strong> (and any of their cakes if you have a sweet tooth like me)! Using an ancient recipe to make their unique baguette, this one just can&#8217;t be missed. Their breads are all quite tasty, but their <strong><em>tradition \u00e0 l&#8217;ancienne<\/em><\/strong> is simply the best! Find them at <em>123 Rue de Vaugirard, 75015<\/em>. It&#8217;s best to arrive before noon to avoid a long queue.<\/p>\n<h3>Pain au Chocolat and Croissants<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/croisant.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11781\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/croisant.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/croisant.jpg 680w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/croisant-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/croisant-610x320.jpg 610w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When you picture Â鶹APPian bakeries, you certainly think of a croissant, or perhaps a <em>pain au chocolat<\/em>. These are the two most popular pastries in Â鶹APPian bakeries, and for good reason! Buttery, flakey croissants are the perfect morning pick-me-up, and you can&#8217;t beat a delicious <em>pain au chocolat<\/em> and an espresso for a sumptuous breakfast. Originally, these types of pastries called <em>vienoisseries<\/em>, are believed to have been brought to France from Vienna by Marie Antoinette herself!<\/p>\n<p>Today, these pastries can be found in any Â鶹APPian bakery, but where can you find the best ones? Below are some of my favourite Â鶹APPian bakeries across the city, hope you&#8217;ll enjoy!<\/p>\n<h3>Du Pain et des Id\u00e9es &#8211; Chocolatine or Croissant<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/du-pain-et-des-idees.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11776\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/du-pain-et-des-idees.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/du-pain-et-des-idees.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/du-pain-et-des-idees-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This bakery is one of the best I have ever tried! Using ancient baking techniques and only top quality, organic ingredients, their products are excellent. For the ultimate indulgence, try a <em>pain au chocolat<\/em> (called chocolatine here) and a <em>caf\u00e9 au lait.<\/em> Their croissants are also perfectly flakey and delicious, as are all of their pastries! This bakery is great because there is space to sit and enjoy your goodies outside. While the lines can get long around lunchtime, the queue moves fairly quickly and the wait is worth it!
