On September 1, Dublin Airport implemented temporary changes to security regulations for passengers departing from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The new rules, enforced by the European Union, impacted the carrying of liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs) in hand luggage.<\/span><\/p>\n

For passengers who travel through Terminal 1, all departing individuals have to ensure that all liquids are under 100ml and placed into a single clear 1-litre bag (measuring 20cm x 20cm) to be placed in a security tray. Additionally, large electronic items such as laptops and tablets must be removed from bags and placed in the security tray.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, in Terminal 2, similar restrictions apply to the quantity and size of liquids allowed, but there was no limit on the number of bags or 100ml containers per passenger. Furthermore, electronic items could remain in hand luggage.<\/span><\/p>\n

These changes were introduced alongside deploying new C3 scanners at Dublin Airport. Notably, Terminal 2 had completed the installation of these scanners, ensuring that all security lanes were equipped with the new technology. However, due to the varying stages of the roll-out in Terminal 1, passengers departing from this terminal might have been subject to the new C3 scanners or older technology. The complete introduction of C3 scanners across both terminals was expected to conclude by October 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>Dublin Airport Managing Director Gary McLean emphasized the priority of ensuring passengers’ safety and security during this transitional period, urging travellers to prepare in advance for security screening to prevent delays.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was important to note that specific exemptions applied to baby food\/milk, medicines, or special dietary requirements were needed during the flight. Although these exempt items might have exceeded 100ml, they had to be presented separately for screening.<\/span><\/p>\n

Passengers departing from Dublin Airport were encouraged to stay informed about these temporary regulations by checking the airport’s official social media channels and website for further updates.<\/span><\/p>\n

D<\/span>eparting passengers from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport<\/a> have to take note of the new regulations regarding the carrying of liquids, aerosols, and gels in hand luggage, which were implemented on September 1, and plan their departure accordingly to ensure a smooth journey through airport security.<\/span><\/p>\n
