The U.S. Artistic Swim Team secured second place by performing a pop-culture-inspired routine that featured an underwater moonwalk to Michael Jackson as reported by NBC<\/a>. The pop-culture inspired routine was one of three performances that helped the U.S. Artistic Swim Team earn silver.<\/p>\n

In their technical routine, the U.S. Swim Team wowed audiences by performing an underwater moonwalk. Their performance at the games defied gravity and left viewers amazed. The artistic swim performance, set to the iconic tune, Smooth Criminal, reverently celebrated Michael Jackson\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n

The swimmers, dressed in black swimsuits adorned with gold embellishments reminiscent of Michael Jackson\u2019s iconic, We Are the World jacket, flawlessly imitated the King of Pop\u2019s signature moonwalk. Imagine Michael Jackson\u2019s iconic moonwalk, but done upside down and submerged in water.<\/p>\n

During the routine, the swimmers executed an impressive upside-down moonwalk. With legs extended vertically into the air, they spun, kicked, and gestured in flawless synchronization. Underwater speakers aided them in staying on beat, resulting in a visually captivating performance.<\/p>\n

This whole performance earned the them a well-deserved silver medal. With a total score of 914.34, the United States secured a podium position, marking their first medal in this event since 2004.<\/p>\n

Team member Daniela Ramirez said, \u2018All the work that we put into this for the past eight years, but especially these last four years, I think has been an amazing testament to what this silver medal means.\u2019<\/p>\n
