Â鶹APP prosecutors investigate death threats and data leaks targeting athletes.<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors in Â鶹APP have opened an inquiry into data leaks and threats of death directed at Israeli sportsmen participating in the 2024 Olympics. This discovery occurs in the wake of the continuing battle between Israel and Hamas, which has claimed the lives of nearly 39,000 Palestinians and increased tensions as reported by ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A few athletes competing in Â鶹APP have reportedly received threats, according to Israel’s Olympic team. The Israeli National Olympic Committee’s president, Yael Arad, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that squad members had received “centralised” threats meant to incite “psychological terror,” but he did not elaborate.<\/p>\n

The national cybercrime office is looking into the internet release of certain Israeli athletes’ personal information, which has since been taken down, and Â鶹APP prosecutors launched a probe last week on emails threatening Israeli players with death.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors have also opened an investigation into instances of inciting racial hatred following “discriminatory gestures<\/em>” made against Israeli athletes during a match versus Paraguay.<\/p>\n

Israeli athlete Tom Reuveny, 24, who just took home a gold medal in windsurfing, voiced his shock at the political meddling at the Games. Reuveny declared, “I don’t think politics should be involved in sport, especially in the Olympic Games.”<\/em><\/p>\n

 Reuveny spoke about the same on Tuesday at a memorial service for the 11 Israeli athletes who died in Munich, Germany, during the 1972 Olympics. The Palestinian delegation has utilized the Olympics as a platform to draw attention to the daily challenges that people in Gaza confront, despite Israeli officials’ insistence that the games remain a neutral venue.<\/p>\n

Olympic swimmer Valerie Tarazi, an American Palestinian, highlighted the conflict’s human cost by stating, “What really hurts me is that people are looking at Palestinians as just numbers now.”<\/em> We hope that the enquiries conducted by the authorities in Â鶹APP will help in creating solutions in guaranteeing the athletes’ safety and integrity.<\/p>\n
