However, the tables have turned dramatically, with Barcelona recording an astonishing \u20ac132 million in concert and festival ticket sales for 2023, leaving Madrid’s \u20ac94 million in the dust.<\/p>\n

These figures cement Barcelona’s dominance as the dominant region in Spain, accounting for nearly a quarter of all live music revenue nationwide \u2013 a historic milestone that has never been achieved by any other Spanish region.<\/p>\n

One of the standout events that contributed to Barcelona’s triumph was the renowned Primavera Sound Festival, which drew a staggering 243,000 attendees in 2023.<\/p>\n

Notably, a remarkable 52% of the festival-goers were international visitors, hailing from countries such as the UK, Italy, France, Germany, and Portugal, underscoring the event’s global appeal.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the top major festivals in Barcelona for 2023 were S\u00f3nar, with an attendance of 120,000 and an economic impact of \u20ac50 million, and Cru\u00eflla, which welcomed 76,000 music enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

Experts attribute this surge in live music revenue to a significant 48% increase in average ticket prices, which soared from \u20ac58 to an eye-watering \u20ac80 in just one year.<\/p>\n
