Paws on the Wharf has launched an exciting new art installation at Canary Wharf, featuring a stunning collection of larger-than-life guide dog sculptures. Each sculpture has been individually decorated by talented artists, showcasing vibrant and eye-catching designs. The outdoor trail promises to be an accessible and enjoyable celebration of these iconic guide dogs, making it a great free activity for families to enjoy.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>guidedogs.org.uk<\/span><\/a>, visitors to Canary Wharf and the wider Tower Hamlets area can look forward to encountering 25 beautifully adorned guide dog sculptures as part of this trail. What makes this initiative even more special is that five of the contributing artists, including Angela Charles, Alex Devlin, Kevin Gavaghan, Sian Healey, and Clarke Reynolds, are visually impaired themselves. Additionally, children from Ben Jonson Primary School had the opportunity to see their designs come to life after winning a competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

This trail is the result of a collaboration between the charity Guide Dogs, the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and Wild in Art. It aims to raise awareness about sight loss and celebrate the incredible bond between guide dogs and their owners.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 5.5-kilometre step-free trail is open for everyone to enjoy, and visitors can scan a QR code accompanying each sculpture to learn more about its unique story. The exhibition will be available for viewing until May 17, 2024, after which the sculptures will be auctioned off to raise funds for Guide Dogs.<\/span><\/p>\n
