The Roman Lapidary, a magnificently restored piece of Kom\u00e1rno’s defence system situated in the southern section of the bastion, provides an enlightening look into the rich past of the Roman Empire. According to the Hungarian National museum<\/a>, Roman stone sculptures, tombstones, altar stones, dedication plates, sarcophagi, and replicas from the second to fourth centuries AD are on display in the show.<\/p>\n

The majority of the displays at the Roman Lapidary are from the Roman boundary defences built at Brigetio and Celemantia, which were built close to Kom\u00e1rno. These relics offer priceless insights into the cultural customs, theological convictions, and artistic accomplishments of ancient Roman civilization.<\/p>\n

However, the exploration of ancient Rome does not finish there. Discover more about the time period by attending the Film Club’s next showing of “Religion: Beliefs and Ceremonies in Ancient Rome<\/a>.” This event, which is being held in the Roman Lapidary on April 25 at 6:30 PM, provides a special chance to investigate how ancient Rome is portrayed in historical dramas.<\/p>\n

With host Dr. \u00c1d\u00e1m Szab\u00f3 Nagyernyei, moderator Count Bogl\u00e1rka, and a panel of distinguished specialists led by Drs. Gy\u00f6rgy N\u00e9meth, D\u00e1vid Bartus, P\u00e9ter Forisek, and P\u00e9ter Kov\u00e1cs, the Film Club promises to be an interesting and informative conversation. Through an examination of both historical and cultural representation, as well as film clips, participants will learn the truth about how Ancient Rome is portrayed in movies.<\/p>\n
