In a nod to Barcelona’s renowned hospitality, the fast-food giant McDonald’s has selected the vibrant Catalan city to host its first-ever Worldwide Convention in Europe.<\/p>\n

This prestigious event, which runs from April 8th to April 11th, 2024, marks a significant milestone for the iconic brand, as it celebrates 69 years of global expansion and community engagement.<\/p>\n

Over the years, McDonald’s has organized 30 such conventions, with the majority taking place in North America, in cities like Las Vegas, Toronto, and Chicago.<\/p>\n

The last convention was held in 2022 in Orlando, Florida. However, the decision to bring this global gathering to Barcelona speaks volumes about the city’s appeal and suitability as a host.<\/p>\n

According to McDonald’s Archivist, Mike Bullington, the primary objective of these conventions is to energize the McDonald’s community, from owner-operators and suppliers to employees and crew, and to remind them of the purpose and passion that drives the brand’s success, regardless of location.<\/p>\n

The convention’s agenda has evolved, initially focusing on providing a platform for owners and operators to meet, learn, and share best practices.<\/p>\n

But it has since grown to include suppliers, employees, and restaurant crew, reflecting the brand’s commitment to fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose within the “McFamily.”<\/p>\n

McDonald’s views the Barcelona convention as an opportunity to celebrate collective successes, showcase the brand’s diverse strengths, and chart the course for its future.<\/p>\n
