As per a report by Le Figaro, over 90% of French people believe that insecurity has grown throughout the country. According to the latest Fiducial\/Odoxa barometer, 55% of the respondents believe that insecurity has increased &#8220;<em>a lot<\/em>&#8220;. This has led to a growing distrust of the government among the people, with 72% of French citizens not believing that the executive can protect them from delinquency.<\/p>\n<p>According to researchers, a clear majority of respondents (62%) no longer trust the government to safeguard them against terrorism. As a result, 68% of the population wants the government to allow a broader use of force than is currently permitted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Strictly regulated by law, the use of violence is, for some, too restrictive and prevents the police from being effective in their mission<\/em>,&#8221; according to the researchers. The police and gendarmes agree with this position, as six out of ten &#8220;<em>consider that, in certain cases, the use of more force than what is provided for in the texts should be tolerated&#8221;<\/em>. This increased use of force is popular with LR (87%), RN (83%), and Renaissance (77%) supporters. Furthermore, almost unanimously (94%), the French support Gabriel Attal&#8217;s slogan &#8220;<em>You break, you repair<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the increasing insecurity in France, citizens are taking measures to protect themselves by barricading their homes. A growing number of people are installing digital code locks, alarms, and video surveillance systems, or even acquiring guard dogs.
