Victor To Oklahoma A Done Deal?<\/h2>\n

Amid all the buzz around the 7\u20194\u201d Victor Wembanyama, everybody doesn’t seem to relent on what could be or what should have been.<\/p>\n

Everybody wants to be the one who says where Wemby will play, how he\u2019ll play and why he\u2019ll play. In short, the Wembanyama topic is in everyone’s mouth, if you are not talking about him, you are hearing about him no in-betweens.<\/p>\n

Looks like the Wembanyama hype train is not coming to an end soon it\u2019s just the beginning and we can\u2019t stop wondering what next is going to come up about him.<\/p>\n

Victor is getting all the hype a rookie could wish for and his buzz coming to the NBA has been compared to that LeBron James received back in 2003.<\/p>\n

Wembanyama is big in his right both physically and influential as he is projected to be the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft set for Thursday, June 22, 2023.<\/p>\n

With the draft completed and the Spurs winning the top slot of selecting the first overall, all eyes are on them as everyone knows who they will be picking, Victor Wembanyama.<\/p>\n

As seen by the ecstatic reaction of their agent Peter Holt Jr at the NBA Draft lottery, getting the first pick at the draft brings the best talent to your franchise and the Spurs couldn\u2019t have asked for more if not Wembanyama.<\/p>\n

Wembanyama to Spurs brings with him a lot of perks to the franchise, besides his 7\u20194\u201d height and an 8-foot wingspan which will be instrumental on the court both offensively and defensively, he was also projected to increase franchise value by half a billion!<\/p>\n

That is not all though, in a recent mock trade by ESPN, if the Spurs decided to send Wembanyama to Oklahoma City Thunder, they might have just hit the jackpot there.<\/p>\n

Sending Victor to OKC shows how valuable the 7\u20194\u201d French phenom is because in return the Spurs will get 2022 number 2 draftee 7\u20191\u201d Chet Holmgren, a first-round selection in 2023, a first-round pick in 2024 via Houston, a first-round pick in 2025 via Philadelphia, and a first-round pick in 2026 via the Los Angeles Clippers.<\/p>\n

All that under Wembanyama just shows how valuable Victor is to a franchise<\/p>\n

Chet was sidelined for the entire 2022\/23 NBA season because of a Lisfranc injury so not many know how he plays on the court.<\/p>\n

Exchanging Chet and Victor is a go-to deal but the odds are in Victor\u2019s favour to be the most prosperous among the two.<\/p>\n

Victor might fare in OKC and Chet might be a good fit in Spurs but the winners if at all this mock trade could happen will be the Spurs.<\/p>\n

Getting Chet plus four more slots to pick first will mean adding more immense talent for the next few years. What OKC will be getting is just a player who nobody knows his track record in the NBA and although Wemby is good, the NBA is a different sphere of basketball.<\/p>\n

But the Spurs don\u2019t seem like they will be following the trade and they look forward to getting Wembanyama to the team, a feat that projects Victor to stay at the Spurs for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n

All in all, if any of the trade or keeping Wembanyama happens, the Spurs will always have an upper hand either way.<\/p>\n

We can only speculate as much as we want but the deciding point will be June 22, 2023, when the draft happens and we just have to wait and see what will happen come that Thursday.<\/p>\n
