French Prodigy Thinks He Has A Lot In Common With This Footballer<\/h2>\n

Playing for Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92, Wembanyama\u2019s performance has helped him garner worldwide recognition.<\/p>\n

For the past two years, the Wembanyama buzz has been the talk in the basketball universe with the lad projected to be the first overall pick come June 22, 2023, when the NBA draft happens.<\/p>\n

Wembanyama admires the best players in the world mentioning that he admires Kevin Durant\u2019s style of play.<\/p>\n

Despite Victor\u2019s praise and admiration for basketball, he also loves football alike and had some nice words to say about a certain player.<\/p>\n

Talking to PSG TV, Wembanyama said he draws inspiration from Football French international Kylian Mbappe. Victor said,\u201d Of course, for many years. I realize that we have a lot in common.<\/p>\n

He is one I relate to a lot. Kylian is the player who inspires me the most, but I want to be original and chart my own path.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is not surprising that Mbappe inspires Wembanyama, Kylian led France’s international team to the 2022 World Cup final scoring a hat trick and winning the golden boot.<\/p>\n

His world cup campaign was one of a kind as he was looking to win the back-to-back world cup with France the last time winning in the 2018 World Cup.<\/p>\n

Victor resonates with Mbappe\u2019s accomplishments in football and wishes to do the same in basketball. In his own right, Victor wants to be original and create his own path.<\/p>\n

He is exceptional and stands out among ordinary players. Wembanyama, who is 7 ‘4 ” tall and with an 8-foot wingspan, appears colossal more than a human. His unique playing style and talent have made him stand out.<\/p>\n

Despite his height, he has a quick first step and great ball-handling abilities that enable him to outrun the defence and make his shot. He can shoot beyond the three-point line with ease and fluidity.<\/p>\n

Due to his height and mobility, he is also an excellent rim protector and a force to be reckoned with in passing lanes when playing defence.<\/p>\n

With all these attributes, Wembanyama will surely create his own path. Living under Mbappe\u2019s shadow is not the case in this case since they play totally different games.<\/p>\n

Both of them carve their own paths in different sports, they are all set for greatness. Mbappe is a pivotal figure in PSG and Wembanyama is a hotcake as far as NBA teams are concerned.<\/p>\n

Set to go first overall, Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets all are tied at 14% as the highest percentage to land the number one overall pick and they will know the order in which the draft will happen on May 16 during the NBA draft lottery.<\/p>\n

Drafting Wembanyama will be a game-changer for the team that gets to land him and his contribution will be something the lucky team will be hoping to get when the regular season begins.<\/p>\n
