Did Jenna Ortega have an unfair advantage in Landing her new Role?<\/h2>\n

It has been officially confirmed that Jenna Ortega will play the casting role of Lydia, the daughter of the original character played by Winona Ryder, of the sequel to the iconic horror comedy Beetlejuice. The Tim Burton film, which will now be Beetlejuice 2,<\/em> was confirmed earlier after fans waited for nearly 30 years. Warner Bros has further announced that it will be open in theatres on September 6, 2024.<\/p>\n

Beetlejuice 2 will basically be the follow-up to the first version released in 1988, a spooky comedy starring Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin, and Geena Davis. According to Variety, Beetlejuice 2’s filming has most likely already started in London.<\/p>\n

Amid all the excitement of Jenna joining the casting crew, people have been curious to know how the actress managed to get secure such a major role. Even though Ortega has proven endlessly that she is a talented young actress, there are people who are not happy with the casting decision. The basis of this is that Jenna was only given the role in the movie only based on her connections with the producer and that there are other more deserving contestants than her.<\/p>\n

So what\u2019s with the controversy? On one hand fans argue that Jenna gained the role given how well-liked she was as part of Addams family member in Netflix’s Wednesday, it seems appropriate that Jenna Ortega will join the two renowned performers as Lydia Deetz’s daughter.<\/p>\n

On the other hand the critics think she is undeserving of the role, fully convinced that she was solely picked for the role based on her acting skills and the reputation she has built for herself in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n

Reports show that Jenna had already built her career by the time she was just 18 years old. The actress has played did major roles in shows such as Wednesday<\/em>, Jane the Virgin, Scream, X<\/em> and You<\/em>.  Therefore she equally has valid reasons why she may have been perfectly suitable for the role.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not like the actress has been hiding how close she is with Director Tim Burton. Moreover she has repeatedly acknowledged that the two have an amazing relationship which many claim is the probably what gave the actress an advantage in securing the major role.<\/p>\n

Generally, Jenna Ortega’s casting in “Beetlejuice 2” did not come as a shock as rumours have been circulating about this exact role, so are the concerns valid? Of course there are other actors who would be amazing for the role but she already secured the role it and there is nothing much that can be done about it.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s not ignore the fact that she might have had an unfair advantage, having worked on Tim Burton\u2019s film. It may not be the sole reason for having been selected for the role, but wrong choice or not, Ortega will be playing the role. She is just as talented and I cannot wait to see how she twists the iconic character of Lydia Deetz.<\/p>\n
