French prodigy compared to the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar<\/h2>\n

Already getting shoutouts from legendary players across the globe, Wembanyama sits comfortably as one of the highest-prospected basketball players to ever declare for the NBA. At only 19 years old, you won\u2019t believe the hype that surrounds the young lad and it\u2019s all for good reasons.<\/p>\n

Boasting impressive features, Victor will surely be a force to reckon with once he gets to the NBA. His outrageous plays as a member of the Metropolitans 92 of the LNB Pro A have enabled the team to stay in the second position in the league.<\/p>\n

Standing at 7\u20194\u201d with a wingspan of 8\u2019 is more alien than he is human. He stands out thanks to his exceptional talent and special playing style.
\nDespite his height, he has excellent ball-handling skills and a quick first step that allow him to outrun the defence and make his shot. He has a smooth and easy three-point shooting stroke.<\/p>\n

He is a great rim protector and a force to be reckoned with in passing lanes when playing defence because of his length and mobility.<\/p>\n

Wembanyama has gotten comparisons to many legendary players including Kevin Durant but his comparison to legendary Los Angeles Lakers star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is what is more interesting. To be compared to Kareem is one of the best honours the world can accord to you and for sure Victor must have his dream come true early on.<\/p>\n

One of the most highly anticipated draft prospects ever was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar due to his height and talent. The Hall of Fame centre was the best in high school and college basketball, winning more titles as he progressed.<\/p>\n

He succeeded in managing to measure up to the expectation by emerging as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, if not the best.<\/p>\n

Victor Wembanyama also has an identical blend of height and talent, but we’ll just have to wait and see if he can live up to the hype.<\/p>\n

The Ringer dubbed Wembanyama a Gen-Z Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or Ralph Sampson and more comparisons have not stopped coming his way. One NBA general manager speaking to Andscape predicted Wembanyama to be just like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.<\/p>\n

He is quoted saying, “Victor is a physical specimen that you rarely see, like Lew Alcindor(Kareem Abdul) or Ralph Sampson. Length, size, and skills are unmatched. His work ethic will determine what level he becomes. But he has it all.”<\/p>\n

So much expectation for the French phenom to get such compliments and be compared to Kevin Durant, Giannis and now Kareem Abdul, the list keeps getting bigger.<\/p>\n

Only time will tell if the young lad will be able to live up to the hype and on June 22, 2023, during the draft, he will get to find out where he will be winning his rings to match Kareem\u2019s six rings.<\/p>\n
