French phenom chooses between Michael Jordan and LeBron James<\/h2>\n

How fast time flies is something that human beings do not understand. Two decades ago LeBron James was just but the highest draft prospect in 2003 and every franchise was so excited about the possibility of landing him as an addition to their roster.<\/p>\n

It is a different anthem now twenty years later in the 2023 NBA draft. The highest-ranked NBA draft prospect is Victor Wembanyama and he is projected to be the first overall pick in the upcoming draft come June 22, 2023.<\/p>\n

Wembanyama has garnered quite fans around the world thanks to his outstanding qualities both on the court and off the court. His fame has grown even bigger because of the availability of social media.<\/p>\n

Victor Wembanyama has been touted as the most promising young man since LeBron James and everyone cannot stop wondering if Victor will be able to surpass the Los Angeles Lakers superstar.<\/p>\n

His reputation has been likened to that of Michael Jordan and LeBron James with some experts predicting that he might surpass their legacies.<\/p>\n

But before Wembanyama joins the never-ending debate of who is the greatest basketball ever, he got a chance to make his choice and LeBron won\u2019t be too happy about what Victor had to say.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with FIRST TEAM, Wemby responded to their question about who is the greatest player between LeBron James and Michael Jordan.<\/p>\n

In French, the prodigy carefully responded, \u201cFor me, for a long time, I kept thinking that the best basketball player was LeBron. But in the end, when I tell myself that the goal is to win, it makes an extra argument for MJ. \u201d<\/p>\n

Wembanyama adores LeBron James but his liking for Michael Jordan\u2019s finals performance surpasses James\u2019 adoration.<\/p>\n

Victor raises a good point because the point of playing is winning and even though LeBron has reached 10 championships finals in his 20-year career, he has only managed to win four. On the other hand, Michael Jordan reached the NBA finals six times and he won all of them hence hanging up his boots with 6 rings.<\/p>\n

Comparing the two only shows that MJ was more effective than Lebron but things could change if LeBron would be able to lead the LA Lakers to another ring this year.<\/p>\n

If LeBron wins this year\u2019s championship, he will have five rings this coming shortly after he surpassed Kareem as the NBA\u2019s highest point scorer ever. Will LeBron winning another ring make him more effective in Victor\u2019s eyes?<\/p>\n

But a great point is raised by LeBron\u2019s agent Rich Paul who claims that if the determinant of the NBA’s greatest player ever is solely based on the number of championships won, then Boston Celtics\u2019s Bill Russell would be the greatest basketball player ever after he was part of the Celtics team that won 11 championships in the 50s and 60s.<\/p>\n

Although Wembanyama might have chosen his \u2018GOAT\u2019, LeBron James has however heaped praise on the 19-year-old. In an interview, LeBron said, \u201cEverybody has been a unicorn over the last few years, but he’s more like an alien. He’s for sure a generational talent.\u201d<\/p>\n

So much praise from the points leader to Victor as he looks to join the NBA league soon.<\/p>\n

Regardless of Wembanyama\u2019s pick, he has the utmost respect for all these legends and he aims at putting in work to match their levels in future. His height, skill, and gameplay place him in the same category as these great players and he will only look to cement his place as one of the best French Internationals.<\/p>\n

Fans are excited as he will get ushered into the league and his growth in the game is something we will be watching out for.<\/p>\n
