Scoot Henderson believes he should be drafted ahead of Wembanyama<\/h2>\n

The 2023 NBA draft keeps getting closer and the race to the top keeps getting hotter. The June 22 NBA draft will see some of the most talented young basketball players get a chance to play in the NBA and two names stand out, Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson both of who are touted to go first and second overall.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve probably heard about the 7\u20194\u201d French prodigy Wembanyama who has captivated basketball fans with his exquisite playing style. Wembanyama has already dominated the international stage as seen when he set the FIBA record for blocks per game in a single tournament while leading the French Under-19 national basketball team to two silver medals.
\nWemby is touted to go first in the 2023 NBA draft and it doesn\u2019t make any sense to NBA G-leagues point guard Scoot Henderson who believes he would be drafted first overall.<\/p>\n

Scoot Henderson, the highly touted basketball prospect, has been making waves in the basketball world with his impressive performances on the court. It is unquestionably justified for Henderson to be confident in his abilities. He has excellent court vision, is a dynamic and explosive player, and is capable of creating his shot. For a player his age, his shooting range is impressive, and his athleticism and quickness enable him to easily get past defenders.<\/p>\n

Although Henderson’s self-assurance is remarkable some might contend that Wembanyama is the more valuable prospect due to his size and potential to be a dominant force on the court. Wembanyama is a looming presence on the court at 7 feet 4 inches, and his talents have earned him comparisons to NBA legends like Kevin Durant and Kristaps Porzingis.<\/p>\n

Henderson, however, is standing by his assertion that he ought to be chosen first overall. Henderson provided a direct response to GQ when asked about draft experts’ predictions that he would go second or third overall, behind the seven-foot-four Wembanyama and Alabama’s Brandon Miller.
\nHe explained to GQ, “Yeah, I think I should go one.”I know I’m gonna be one.”
\nHenderson was then questioned about whether or not being chosen as the top pick had been his ultimate goal. He responded, “Yes. Of course, who doesn’t want to go one?’<\/p>\n

Henderson puts on a strong performance on the court, which undoubtedly supports his confidence. As a result of his abilities and potential, he has already been compared to NBA stars like Ja Morant, Derrick Rose, and Russell Westbrook. He is now one of the top prospects in the 2023 NBA Draft. In addition, he has a reputation for having a strong work ethic and being committed to continually raising his level of play; these qualities will undoubtedly be helpful to him as he progresses as a player. Although Wembanyama still holds the higher odds over Henderson, the talent these two athletes hold on the court is undeniable. At the end of the day, every team will be looking to add the best on their team and landing any of these two would be an added important piece to their roster.<\/p>\n

As both of them will get drafted, perhaps one day we will be lucky to see Wembanyama and Henderson go head-to-head again this time as NBA superstars. Until then, let us wait and see how the NBA draft pans out come June.<\/p>\n
