Amazon Introduces Bedrock, A Generative AI Model<\/h2>\n

Last week, Amazon became the latest tech company to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) to their systems. In a letter to shareholders on Thursday 13th April 2023, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the company is and will be \u201cinvesting heavily\u201d in large language models (LLMs) and generative AI. Said generative AI utilizes the same technology powering OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT and other similar AI chatbots.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been working on our own LLMs for a while now, believe it will transform and improve virtually every customer experience and will continue to invest substantially in these models across all of our consumer, seller, brand, and creator experiences,\u201d the letter by Jassy read as reported by CNN<\/p>\n

Since the release of ChatGPT late last year, major companies in the industry have made it clear they are focused on integrating AI systems into their service provision. The letter by Jassy as highlighted by CNN shows just how much pressure companies are under to explain how they are evolving with the market to tap into the AI product market.<\/p>\n

 The company also disclosed that the Amazon Web Services cloud platform will be offering new AI language models. The model, which will be known as Amazon Bedrock, will allow customers to create (generate) text and boost their software.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur mission is to make it possible for developers of all skill levels and for organizations of all sizes to innovate using generative AI,” said AWS\u2019s vice president of Data and Machine Learning, Swami Sivasubramanian.<\/p>\n

In a blog post by Amazon, it was disclosed that Bedrock will make the foundation models from AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Stability AI, and Amazon accessible to their clients via an API.<\/p>\n

In the letter, Jassy also discussed how this new venture is supposed to help its customers. According to Jassy, Amazon\u2019s goal is to offer less costly machine learning chips so that \u201csmall and large companies can afford to train and run their LLMs in production.\u201d<\/p>\n
