On arrival at the scene, near downtown San Francisco, the police found a 43-year-old man with apparent stab wounds. The location of the crime was at the 300 block of Main Street near the entrance of a high-rise close to the waterfront.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;The police took the man, whom they had not officially identified yet, to a nearby hospital. As per the report, he had life-threatening injuries, which, he succumbed to at the hospital, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Although the police did not identify the man, NBC Bay Area claims that sources identified the victim as Bob Lee. Bob was the Chief Product Officer of MobileCoin, a cryptocurrency company.<\/p>\n<p>According to the San Francisco Standard, he was in San Francisco on a business trip which he had decided to extend for a day, when he was stabbed. Bob Lee is infamous in <em>Tech<\/em> as a critical figure in creating Android and Cash App.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, MobileCoin\u2019s CEO Joshua Goldbard said that Lee had \u2018passed away yesterday.\u2019 Joshua did not mention a cause of death in his statement. However, he went on to heap praise on Bob for his professional contributions.<\/p>\n<p>He said, &#8220;Bob was a dynamo, a force of nature. Bob was the genuine article. He was made for the world being born right now; he was a child of dreams, and whatever he imagined, no matter how crazy, he made real.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the San Francisco police announced that the department\u2019s homicide detail would investigate the incident. However, as of the early hours of Wednesday, 5th April, no arrests had been made as of yet regarding the case.<\/p>\n<p>The fatal stabbing of such a high-profile figure could and most probably will intensify public safety scrutiny in San Francisco. In recent months, residents and business owners have grown increasingly concerned over the high crime rate in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Once the news of Bob Lee\u2019s sudden death was made public, tributes for Lee poured in on social media platforms. In a tweet, MMA fighter Jake Shields exclaimed, \u201cI just found out my good friend was killed last night while walking him in San Francisco. He was in the \u201cgood\u201d part of the city and appeared to have been targeted in a random mugging\/attack. F**k San Francisco.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twitter CEO Elon Musk also commented on the incident. He said, \u201cVery sorry to hear that. So many people I know have been severely assaulted.
