Geography<\/h2>\n

Sweden looks like a long banana. From south to north, the country stretches 1572 kilometers. A distance of 499 kilometers separates east from west. It has a coastline of 2400 kilometers, surrounded by the Baltic Sea in the east. Finland, Norway, and Denmark are our neighbours.<\/p>\n

Did you know that Sweden is the fourth largest country in Europe? 15% of its area lies north of the pole circle. Despite this, Sweden is relatively flat, especially in the south. Kebnekaise, which is 2111 meters high, is the highest mountain.
\nSweden\u2019s largest lake is V\u00e4nern, which is also the largest lake in Europe. The number of lakes in Sweden exceeds 100,000. Another unknown fact about Sweden is the number of islands. Sweden has 221,831 making it the most islands in any country.
\nThe capital of Sweden, Stockholm, is in my view one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The capital city is built on 14 islands connected by more than 50 bridges.
\nThis is why you are always surrounded by water, whether it is a coastline, a sea, a river, or a lake. The ability to swim is in my opinion a necessity for thriving in Sweden.<\/p>\n

There are only 10,5 million residents in the country. 2 million people, including myself, have a foreign heritage, which amounts to 20%. Foreign-born Swedes contribute substantially to the reputation of Sweden too.<\/p>\n

People, Sports, and Nature<\/h2>\n

In Sweden, we have allemansr\u00e4tten. Sweden\u2019s \u201cRight of Public Access\u201d, or \u2018Allemansr\u00e4tten\u2019, is all about freedom of movement and exploration. If you do not disturb or destroy Sweden\u2019s nature, you are welcome to enjoy it wherever and whenever you like.<\/p>\n

Activities related to nature and the outdoors are very popular. Hiking, skiing, and camping are popular outdoor activities due to traditions, habits, and environmental conservation policies.<\/p>\n

Swedish people are known for their sporty and active lifestyles. Sports such as hiking, swimming, biking, tennis, gymnastics, golfing, and athletics. Cross-country skiing, skiing, and skating. In addition to team sports such as football (soccer), ice hockey, handball, and floorball, motorsports and equestrian sports are also popular.
\nZlatan Ibrahimovic is the most famous Swedish sportsman and football (soccer) player of all time. The white, blond, fair-skinned, beautiful people of Sweden have long been known for their beauty. In spite of this, Sweden should be recognized for its intellectual capital and innovation.<\/p>\n

Yet being an outsider. A person slowly adapting to a new culture and environment. I wanted to explore other places in Sweden and moved at the age of 20 to study. I studied Cognitive Science and Interaction Design at the University of Sk\u00f6vde and Malm\u00f6. In the year 2000, I started working in IT. Through this path, I ended up spending 7 years in Switzerland from 2001 until 2008. With a year in Amsterdam, Holland, from 2006-2007. Since 2008 I have been based in Stockholm, Sweden. In my professional life, I have continued working in the field of product development, designing new products and services. On my vacations and leisure time, I continue to be adventurous and explorative. I hope to share my adventures and reflections with you. So I ask questions and like to figure things out. Sometimes I only observe and listen. About myself, I was born in 1974 in Karachi, Pakistan. My parents are Muslim and I grew up in an Urdu and Punjabi-speaking household. When I was 4 years old, we relocated and lived in Nigeria until I was 10 years old. My childhood memories are very fond. We experienced challenges and hardships; being sick with malaria every year. Or that summer when the roof blew away from our house in a tropical storm. At the age of 10 years, we relocated to Lund, Sweden. Learning Swedish and getting accustomed to a new lifestyle. Walking and biking to school, living a calm peaceful life in Sweden. Yet being an outsider. A person slowly adapting to a new culture and environment. I wanted to explore other places in Sweden and moved at the age of 20 to study. I studied Cognitive Science and Interaction Design at the University of Sk\u00f6vde and Malm\u00f6. In the year 2000, I started working in IT. Through this path, I ended up spending 7 years in Switzerland from 2001 until 2008. With a year in Amsterdam, Holland, from 2006-2007. Since 2008 I have been based in Stockholm, Sweden. In my professional life, I have continued working in the field of product development, designing new products and services. On my vacations and leisure time, I continue to be adventurous and explorative. I hope to share my adventures and reflections with you.
