Netflix is a lifesaver, don\u2019t you think? It is through this amazing platform that I came across this very interesting thriller series by the name, of \u201cWednesday.\u201d For those wondering, no, this show ain\u2019t about the day of the week. It\u2019s about this very misunderstood and kinda weird girl known as Wednesday Adams who tries to solve a monster mystery at her school. The series is directed by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and it has quite kicked off. Let\u2019s get a bit of background. Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega who plays the role of Wednesday Addams and it premiered on<\/span><\/p>\n

November 16th<\/sup><\/span>, 2022 and was also released on Netflix on November 23<\/span>rd,<\/sup><\/span> 2022. Its positive reviews from critics actually gave it’s executive producers quite a push and also skyrocketed Ortega\u2019s acting career. Within three weeks of its release, it became the second most-watched English-language Netflix series. This series did so well that it received two Golden Globe nominations. That is Best Television Series- Musical or Comedy and Best Actress- Television Series Musical or Comedy for Ortega. This January 2023, The series has been renewed for a second season and we all cannot wait.<\/span><\/p>\n

So what is this series about? Let me try and entice you so that you can run to Netflix and check it out. Okay. The series starts off with Wednesday Addams being expelled from her school because of dumping piranhas into the school\u2019s pool as a revenge act for the water polo boys\u2019 team after bullying her little brother. She makes it clear that she is the only one allowed to bully her brother. When you get a glimpse of her character, you\u2019ll actually understand that this is the sweetest thing Wednesday has ever done.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway, because of that act, her parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams enroll her at their high school alma mater, Nevermore Academy, despite Wednesday\u2019s tantrums. The school is a private school for monstrous outcasts in the town of Jericho, Vermont. Her emotionless and cold personality makes it difficult for her to connect with her schoolmates and principal. Later on, she discovers she has inherited her mother\u2019s psychic abilities which allows her to solve a local murder mystery. And this is where it becomes interesting because now the whole series revolves around this.<\/p>\n
