This site is located in the Tsitsikamma area of South Africa’s Garden Route at the border between the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape. It’s on the N2 Highway and has operated commercially since 1997. Operated by Face Adrenalin, Bloukrans River Bridge became Africa’s first bungee jumping bridge in 1990. The Bloukrans Bridge has seen several world records set there. On 6 April 2010, Mohr Keet set a Guinness World Record for bungy jumping. Keet, who was 96 years old at the time, set a record as the oldest person to bungee jump.

On 11 May 2011, Scott Huntly set a new world record for the most bungee jumps in a day. Huntly jumped 107 from Bloukrans Bridge. He did this in nine hours. Huntly set the record as a means to raise funds for local communities.

Bill Boshoff, a South African, set the world record for the most bungee jumps in 24 hours. In 14 hours and 23 minutes at Bloukrans, Boshoff performed 101 bungy jumps. He accomplished this feat at the Bloukrans Bridge on 10 May 2002. On 9 May 2002, Veronica Dean-Boshoff set a record for 19 jumps in one hour.

Boshoff’s record for the most jumps in 24 hours stood for six years. On 16 August 2008, Mike Heard set a new world record. Heard accomplished 103 Bungy jumps within a 24-hour period24 hours, beating Boshoff’s record by 2 bungy jumps. He set this record at Auckland’s Harbour Bridge.
